Programs and Services
Williams Lake Child Care Resource and Referral Centre (CCRR) offers lots of programs and services for parents and caregivers.
Play Groups
Playgroups are a great way to help your child socialize and develop skills needed to communicate, learn language, cooperate and play with others, problem solve and much more. CCRR hosts free, weekly drop-in playgroups throughout the year.
Check out our Facebook page for the latest updates.
Why you should join us at a Play Group
The social interaction kids experience at playgroups is more important than ever, as recent studies are showing delayed development in children following COVID-19. Plus, adults get the chance to meet up with other grown-ups who are going through the same thing and model socialization for their children. Our playgroups are also a great way to find support (e.g. CCRR staff) to ask questions, find new ways to address behaviours like hitting, yelling and isolating, and understand the “new” normal.
If you can’t make it to our playgroup and would like us to come to your community to host a playgroup, scavenger hunt, info session about behaviours, etc., email us at ccrr@womenscontact.org.
Lending Library
CCRR’s Lending Library is a service that offers toys, books and children’s accessories, such as playpens, strollers, etc., to caregivers.
You must be registered through membership (free) in order to borrow items from the Lending Library.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Get FREE BOOKS for your child!
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five. Registered children are mailed a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book each month, no matter their family’s income.
The Women’s Contact Society is a registered affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for Williams Lake and surrounding areas in the Cariboo-Chilcotin. In our region, this book gifting program is supported through funding from Dolly Parton, the Women’s Contact Society, the province of British Columbia, the Williams Lake Credit Union and private donors.

You can help inspire a love of reading
Although Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library covers many of the program costs, the Women’s Contact Society must raise $45.00/child/year, approximately $14,000.00 per year.
Help us ensure children continue receiving free books by donating today. By clicking the Donate button below, you can make a one-time or monthly donation that goes directly to our local fund.
